The serial number is 288057B denoting the year of manufacture as 1889. The engraving on the top of the barrel is clear, one of the best we've seen: WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN, CT KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.
