Original U.S. Civil War Era “US” Branding Iron Antique Smith & Wessons and is stamped with ROriginal Item. Only One Available. Now this is an interesting first for us. This is a Civil War era branding iron meant to brand materials owned by the United States, likely used primarily by the United States Army. The iron measures roughly 24 long and is heavily oxidized with some bending in the bar. This likely would have had another material or was meant to be used with gloves to stop the hands from burning. It could likely still be used today!
